However, after the disappearance of the Tabasco team, Hernandez Pat was entrusted with the Sub 23 subsidiary team of the Pumas, a recently created category in the Liga MX of Mexican football.

Hernandez Pat emerged in the youth teams of Santos, where he went through several categories.
Later, he joined América alongside then vice president of América, Ricardo Peláez, and he had to lead the main team in the absence of his coach at that time, Ricardo La Volpe.
With the same Peláez, Hernandez Pat arrived at Cruz Azul to stay at the cement club between 2018-2019, leading the Sub 17 first and then the Sub 20 subsidiary team.
Prior to this, he had served as an assistant coach at Celaya, where after his experience with Cruz Azul, he returned in the 2021-2022 season.
