Cruz Azul continues the search for reinforcements for the Apertura 2023 and is close to closing two more signings: Matheus Doria and Eduardo Aguirre.

This Monday, Santos returned from their vacation period and the news was the absence of Doria and Aguirre, to whom the Laguna directive would have given permission to finalize their negotiations with the celestes.

With the departure of Julio César Domínguez, La Máquina and Santos reactivated negotiations for Matheus Doria, whom they had previously looked for.

The Brazilian defender has stood out as one of the leaders of the Santos defense, since his arrival in the Liga MX in 2018 he has played 135 games, an average of 13 per tournament, and has scored 12 goals, so he would be one of the best options to form that solid defense that the team is lacking. Doria would arrive with a four-year contract in exchange for six million dollars.

In addition to the defender, La Noria is looking for a forward, a position in which they struggled last season, as both Michael Estrada and Gonzalo Carneiro left much to be desired and since the departure of Santiago Giménez they have not found that killer they need.

That is why the interest in "Mudo" Aguirre, one of the Mexican forwards who has shone the most in recent years, despite the fact that in Clausura 2023, he did not have much activity due to an injury, as he only played two games and accumulated 41 minutes. Cruz Azul believes that at 24 years old, they can still get a lot out of him.

In this way, Cruz Azul, who continues their preseason in Ixtapa, would close their second and third signings of the season, considering that Carlos Salcedo arrived in Mexico City last week for medical exams, although it has not been officially announced.
