Mariano López, young driver of Sergio 'Checo' Pérez's team, SP Driver Academy, dominated the entire competition weekend in the Skusa Karting Championship, held in Mexico City.
11-year-old kart driver managed to dominate the classification of Saturday, September 3rd, with a time of 1.00.552. He also won the race of that seventh round after 15 exciting laps.
On Sunday, September 4th, Mariano once again led and surpassed his previous record with a time of 1.00.409. During this eighth round, the young driver also took first place and is projected as one of the favorites to win the mini category championship.

Great performances with 'Checo's' team
During these two rounds, the Peruvian driver has managed to show his great level with 'Checo' Pérez's team. This is thanks to the company and support of his trainer Carlos Ríos from HRT Motor Sport.
It should be noted that the Sergio Pérez Driver Academy team is led by Antonio Pérez, brother of the Red Bull Racing Formula 1 driver, and Noel 'El Guero' León, a reference in Mexican motorsport.
Upcoming commitments
The next commitment for the 11-year-old kart driver will be in the WSK Championship, an event that will take place at the South Garda circuit in Lonato, Italy. In that event, he will make his debut as an official driver of the Babyrace Team, with Parolin chassis and IAME engine.
