Liga MX: Roger Martínez from América will miss the first part of the Apertura Tournament after his injury was confirmed.

A news that comes as a cold shower to the 'eagles'. Roger Martínez will be out of the fields for six to eight weeks due to a muscle injury, as América reported this Wednesday. The Colombian forward will have to seek his recovery to be present in the Apertura Tournament of the Liga MX.

The most successful club in Mexican football with 13 titles lost its 28-year-old striker this Saturday during the match corresponding to the first round of the Apertura tournament in which they faced Atlas.

"The player has an injury in the proximal tendon of the left rectus femoris. The recovery time is six to eight weeks depending on his evolution," América reported in a statement.

It should be noted that Martínez joined the "Águilas" of América in June 2018 and has scored 29 goals in 137 matches. In the match at the Estadio Azteca, América had its best goal opportunities thanks to the Colombian, until he was injured in the first half.
