Javier Tebas, President of LaLiga, issued his recommendation for Mexico and the Liga MX to jointly sell their broadcasting rights and stop individual negotiations between TV networks and teams, as he believes that this will bring much greater benefit to the internationalization of Mexican soccer.

"Mexico is one of the few clubs that still negotiate individually. Undoubtedly, as a package, it is much more valuable than individually, it's worth twice or three times as much," said Tebas in the announcement of an agreement between Liga MX and LaLiga.

"The issue is the distribution, it's not the same for a big club. There has to be a difference, but not a big difference, but it must be done as a package to develop a joint brand and increase its value. The big clubs are reluctant, but the money they claim they are losing is compensated, not because it's a larger amount," added the Spanish executive.

Furthermore, Tebas mentioned that the sale of audiovisual rights helps transparency and described how in Spain there are laws that require clubs to declare their income, and that helps fans feel attached to a club because they trust their practices.

"All our clubs are viable because they don't spend more than what they earn because that is more important for the competition. For transparency, we enforce compliance rules for clubs and ensure that everything is carried out in accordance with a listed company and that contracts are fulfilled," he stated.

"All clubs must have a compliance body and that helps because it is on the website. That helps us to get closer to the fans. It is not enough to have great players, but to build a great club and make your actions known transparently. Sponsors demand that you have internal rules to sign with you," concluded the Spanish executive.
