In the proposal of the Liga MX for the creation of the Development League, it was stipulated that each team will receive 20 million pesos annually for their operation, a budget that is not enough to cover the expenses of an average Ascenso MX team.
"No, to be honest, the 20 million issue is not enough to cover the annual cost of an average Ascenso team, there will have to be an adaptation from all parties to fit that budget and avoid any kind of deficit," said Pedro Beltrán, sports director of Cimarrones de Sonora.
The executive acknowledged that modifications will have to be made in all clubs that were part of the Ascenso MX, now Development League, to adapt to the new budget and they are awaiting the new rules, as they have not yet been made public.
"The work meetings started last week and are still ongoing, there is no deadline to announce them," added the executive.
About the transfer of the 'Mexican Pogba', Jesús Alberto Alcantar, to Necaxa, the executive recognized that the team from Aguascalientes has been following him for six months and he will be loaned for two years, with an option for one more.
"It's a nickname they gave him because of his resemblance to Pogba, but in terms of other clubs' search, the showcase he had when he was selected Under 18 in January and his participation in Spain opened up opportunities for several teams to be interested, but there was no other team like Necaxa. The showcase issue was important to promote him."
