Tigers vs Veracruz: Captain Guido Pizarro responds to criticism for lack of Fair Play in goals against Tiburones [PHOTOS AND VIDEOS]

Guido Pizarro, captain of Tigres, stated that the agreement to support Veracruz in their protest against the lack of player payments was only for a minute.

The Argentine Guido Pizarro , captain of Tigres, said that the agreement to support Veracruz in their protest against the lack of payment to the players lasted only one minute, and that's why they scored two goals against the defenseless rival afterwards.

"It was agreed to take a group photo and stop for one minute, then their captain asked for five minutes or three; I told him that as a captain I don't make decisions, I talk to my players and communicate to the captain that we were only going to stop for one minute," said Pizarro.

In one of the most embarrassing images in the history of Mexican football, Veracruz didn't touch the ball; in the third minute they conceded a goal from Chilean Eduardo Vargas and in the fourth minute they conceded one from Frenchman André Pierre Gignac, after which the team decided to play, but in the eighth minute they accepted another goal from Vargas.

Displeased because they considered that Tigres weren't very supportive, the Veracruz players went in hard, the substitute players criticized Vargas and Gignac when they passed by them, and at the end of the game they sarcastically applauded Tigres, whose players they refused to greet.

More criticism for Tigres

Goalkeeper Nahuel Guzmán and striker Gignac hugged Veracruz's young goalkeeper Sebastián Jurado, who didn't reciprocate, after which forward Ángel Reyna criticized Vargas and Gignac.

"It's sad that you lose common sense when you see your fellow professional, your teammate, not moving, not participating for the good of football, in this case Edu Vargas and Gignac don't have the common sense or the goodwill to support," said Reyna.
