Pedro Caixinha, 48 years old, left the position of coach at Cruz Azul, it was officially announced by the sports management of the Mexican club through a statement on social media. Therefore, the midfielder of the Peruvian National Team, Yoshimar Yotún, will no longer have the support of the coach.
"We thank Mr. Caixinha, as well as his entire coaching staff, for the work, commitment and effort provided to the institution during his tenure, wishing them the greatest success in their future projects", it is read in the statement.
According to Mediotiempo, the coach met this Sunday, September 1st, with Guillermo Álvarez and Ricardo Peláez, president and sports director of La Máquina, respectively, so that, by mutual agreement, Pedro Caixinha leaves the team.
The Portuguese coach arrived at Cruz Azul in the 2018-2019 season. In the team, he won two titles, the Mexican Cup in 2018 and the Supercopa this year. In addition, he has 85 matches where he won 39, drew 25, and lost 21.
