MEXICO -- Ruben de Jesus Rodriguez, a fan of America, revealed that Agustin Marchesin confided 'exclusively' to him that it was practically his last day in America because he is going to Europe, without specifying the team. The Eagles supporter, stationed outside Coapa, is one of the few who took photos with the Argentine goalkeeper as soon as he finished training.
What did he say to you?, the American fan was asked... "Well, he said he was going to Europe, that it was practically his last day, he just had to wait for his work visa and then he would retire... A signature, some photos, and he's off," he explained.
Excited, with the signature of the South American goalkeeper, De Jesus affirmed that he saw him sad, but surely excited deep down. "He's going to take a big leap in his career. He deserves it, like him and Mateus (Uribe) and many others who have given their all with the team's jersey on the field," he pointed out.
Ruben now hopes that America will bring in a goalkeeper of the same level. "All goalkeepers are different, but the goalkeeper who comes in will have to fill a very big gap in the goal. We wish him (Marchesin) success, going from playing in the Copa MX to the Champions League, he's earned it and we hope he does very well wherever he is," he confirmed.
The communication comes amidst information that Marchesin will play for Porto in Portugal for four seasons, although neither America nor the Portuguese team have provided official information. During training, Marchesin left the practice session with Miguel Herrera, and later came out onto the field and spoke with club members whom he hugged and then cried. The press office asked the media to leave the facility, so there was no possibility of speaking with club personnel or members of the coaching staff or players.
The players left through the back door, and some fans took advantage of the situation to take some photos, like in the case of Ruben de Jesus Rodriguez, who took a couple of pictures with the South American goalkeeper and, according to his own words, he said he was leaving because he had some unfinished business.
