The Santos Laguna, Ecuadorian Ayrton Preciado's new team, debuted their title with a comeback victory of 2-1 against Lobos BUAP, team of compatriots Jordan Sierra and Gabriel Cortez, in a match of the first round of the Apertura-2018 tournament played on Sunday at the Corona stadium.
Sierra started as a starter, while 'Loco' Cortez entered the field with nine minutes remaining.
The Wolves took the lead in the 8th minute with a left footed shot from outside the area by Bryan Rabello. The Chilean shot from about 30 meters from the goal and placed the ball in the upper right corner.
The 'Warriors' from Santos completed the comeback after the break. In the 47th minute, Carlos Orrantia appeared in the right corridor of the area and sent a cross that Uruguayan Brian Lozano converted into the 1-1 with a volley shot.
In the 57th minute, Uruguayan Jonathan Rodríguez received a forward pass on the left side, easily escaped from the defender, entered the area and scored the 2-1 with a shot to the far post with the inside of his right foot.
Santos, the current champion of Mexican soccer, will have the talented Ecuadorian winger Ayrton Preciado in the upcoming days, coming from Emelec.
According to the Mexican press, the transfer fee for the Ecuadorian player would be around 8 million dollars. (D)
