Xolos de Tijuana has two confirmed signings so far for the Apertura 2018, one of which is considered "risky", but that philosophy pleases the border coach, Diego Cocca, who explained the arrival of Erick Torres and Luis Fuentes.
"Luis (Fuentes) had the opportunity to play, with a lot of experience. El Cubo is a challenge because he hasn't shown anything in Mexican soccer, we have talked to him so that Tijuana gives him the opportunity. We are a club that likes to take risks," he declared.
The Tijuana team acquired these two players in an exchange with Pumas, in which Juan Iturbe and Victor Malcorra left for the capital city.
In addition to those two departures, Xolos also lost Pablo Aguilar, so Cocca explained what they are looking for in the 2018 Draft and, if not achieved on Wednesday, in the foreign market.
"Malcorra had not had much participation, Iturbe was more due to an injury, but Pumas showed a lot of interest and they will surely give him the opportunity," he explained.
"We are looking for a center-back with Pablo Aguilar leaving, there is also the issue of (Damian) Musto's suspension which has us in limbo, and with Iturbe and Malcorra leaving there are spots to fill for foreigners."
