YOUTUBE. The América Eagles achieved on Saturday at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City their ticket to the semifinals of the Mexican League after defeating Pumas with an overall score of 6-2 (1-4 in the first leg and 2-1 in the second leg).
Mateus Uribe opened the score in the 4th minute of the first half, quickly sentencing Pumas UNAM, as they had lost by 1-4 in the first leg at home. This goal, if there was any hope for the university team to come back, ended with their illusion.
Worse, in the 20th minute, the Chilean Marcelo Díaz was dismissed for two yellow cards, leaving Pumas to face the match with 10 men.
More with self-esteem than with good play, Jesús Garllardo equalized just before half-time, after getting rid of his marker and shooting towards the goalkeeper's post. In the 70th minute, Nicolás Castillo, the other Chilean from Pumas, was directly sent off.
Ecuadorian Andrés Ibargüen scored the 2-1 after receiving a pass from the right, settling himself and placing a shot.
The América Eagles secured their spot in the semifinals with a 6-2 overall score and are awaiting their rival.
