Mayos de Navojoa tied the 2017-18 Mexican Pacific League (LMP) Final Series at 3-3 by defeating Tomateros de Culiacán 4-3, forcing a seventh and decisive game.

Facing a packed and ecstatic Manuel "Ciclón" Echeverría Stadium, the Sonoran "tribe" kept their hopes alive in this winter baseball final, achieving a dramatic comeback in the ninth inning that left Tomateros on the field.

Trailing 3-2 in the ninth inning, Mayos never gave up and first tied the score at 3-3, thanks to a solo home run by Sonoran slugger Paul León (2), to the excitement of over 11 thousand fans.

Already tied at 3-3, and with just one out against them, Mayos secured this dramatic victory with a 4-3 score, as Cuban player Randy Arozarena hit a run-scoring single that brought home his teammate Omar Rentería with the winning run.

With this victory by Mayos, the 2017-18 Final Series for the crown is tied at 3-3, so this Sunday, at the same "Ciclón" Echeverría Stadium, the seventh and decisive game will be played to determine the new monarch of Mexican winter baseball.

In addition to Paul León's home run, Alejandro González (2) also hit another solo "dinger" in favor of the Sonoran "tribe" in the third inning. For Tomateros, Fernando Pérez (1) cleared the fences, although this effort did not amount to much.

American reliever Daniel Moskos (1-0) earned this important victory for Mayos, while his compatriot Chad Gaudin (0-1) suffered the painful loss for Tomateros.

The team that becomes champion will represent Mexican winter baseball in the upcoming 2018 Caribbean Series, which will be held starting February in the Pan American Stadium in Guadalajara, Jalisco.
