The strategist of Rayados de Monterrey, the Argentine Antonio Mohamed, said that his team has a thorn with themselves, which is why they hope to win the title this Thursday in the Copa MX, when they face the "Tuzos" of Pachuca.
Mohamed denied seeking revenge with the Hidalgo team because they won them in the final of the Clausura 2016 Tournament, and that the issue is with themselves because, from their point of view, they have lost titles due to details.
"The thorn is not with Pachuca or the opponent who beat us (referring to Tigres), the thorn is with ourselves, for doing things right, but details slip away; because it would have been less painful if in the finals we had been overtaken by the opponent and we didn't have a chance to win, that hurts a little more, it doesn't serve more than learning and focusing on now, there is no other way," he said.
The coach said that the most important thing will be for his team to bring themselves joy with a championship, because they ended up emotionally hurt after losing the final of the Apertura 2017 Tournament against Tigres de la UANL.
Mohamed considered that as the host, Monterrey should be the favorite, but they know that "Tuzos", who comes after finishing third in the Club World Cup, is a team of hierarchy.
"We play at home, we should be the favorites because we play in our home, it is a team of great hierarchy, we have to recover from the psychological part of having lost the league final, and tomorrow is a good opportunity to heal the wound of having lost the final 10 days ago, that objective is what remains for us," he concluded.
