Univision acquires rights to Liga MX in the US.

Univision, the Hispanic television network, announced today that it has acquired the broadcasting rights in the United States for the 18 teams of the Liga MX for the Apertura and Clausura 2017/2018 tournaments.

Univision, the Hispanic television network, announced today that it has acquired the broadcasting rights in the United States for the 18 teams of the Liga MX for the Apertura and Clausura 2017/2018 tournaments.

Without mentioning any financial figures regarding the agreement, the network indicated that the distribution deal includes live broadcasts on radio and television platforms in the main markets of the United States, as well as on national digital platforms.

The network clarified that the rights for the Lobos de la Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla team, known as Lobos BUAP, were obtained during the 2017 season, therefore they join the broadcast alongside the other 17 teams that make up the Liga MX.

It indicated that the Liga MX "is the most watched league in the United States, regardless of language."

The league includes the following clubs: América, Atlas, Cruz Azul, Guadalajara, León, Monterrey, Morelia, Necaxa, Pachuca, Puebla, Querétaro, Santos Laguna, Tijuana, Toluca, UANL, UNAM, Veracruz, and Lobos BUAP.
