Andrés Guardado speaks about the situation in Mexico
Andres Guardado, midfielder of Betis and captain of the Mexican national team, spoke after the match in which the Seville team defeated Real Madrid. In an interview with El Transistor de Onda Cero, the Mexican footballer talked about the situation that is currently happening in Mexico.
"I have many friends and acquaintances, players and teammates from Cruz Azul, America Pumas, with whom I have coincided and these are difficult moments for my country. Those of us who are Mexicans and love our country so much hope that we will soon overcome this," he said.
He added, "It was difficult for me to focus on the match, knowing that I was not going to start, you don't fully engage in a match and especially with the situation that was going on in my mind; receiving many messages, I have a foundation in Mexico and trying to coordinate things from here to bring supplies to collection centers, but one has to be professional and focus on their work and in the end it went quite well. It's a bit of anesthesia for the head and a lot of encouragement for my country," he commented.
