Antonio 'El Pollo' Briseño has not been able to debut in Portugal after not being called up by coach Manta Santos in the 2-0 loss against Portimense.

Antonio Briseño, the Mexican defender, is still unable to make his debut in the Old Continent, as the former player of Veracruz Sharks, was not called up by coach Nuno Manta Santos in Feirense's 2-1 defeat on their visit to Portimonense.

Just 12 minutes into the game, Shoya Nakajima scored the first goal for the home team, and at the 19th minute, the Japanese player scored again for Portimonense. Nigerian Oghenekaro Etebo scored the only goal for Santa Maria da Feira.

The defender, who was the champion of the U17 World Cup in 2011, has not played a professional game since April 16, 2017, when Veracruz lost 0-1 against Necaxa in the previous tournament of Liga MX.

Despite the setback, Feirense is in seventh place in the Portuguese League standings with eight points, while Portimonense reached six points to climb to thirteenth place and avoid relegation.

Briseno joined Feirense on July 3 to fulfill his dream of playing in Europe. However, after two months of joining the Portuguese team, he has only played preseason matches.
