This Wednesday it was announced that the Greek Football Federation (known by the acronym EPO) suspended the championship, due to suspicious incidents at the home of a referee.
This refers to a fire at the summer house of referee Yorgos Bikas in the town of Chalkidiki. This has occurred amidst threats received by another referee, Yorgos Tsajilidis.
As a result, the Referees' Association has filed various complaints and the EPO has suspended all football championships in the country until "the investigations are concluded".
It should be noted that the EPO is managed by an executive committee appointed by FIFA to clean up the federation and call for elections.
