Rumors about Lionel Messi's Asperger Syndrome

Rumors that Lionel Messi suffers from Asperger's Syndrome, a mild form of autism, come back to life after a Brazilian newspaper claimed that 'La Pulga' does suffer from this condition and that it was detected when he was 7 years old.

These rumors take advantage of the way the player reacts to certain situations, which apparently are nothing more than a manifestation of Asperger's Syndrome.

For some specialists, it would not be far-fetched to think that Messi suffers from Asperger's Syndrome, as this would explain his great plays on the field, as that disorder is known as the 'syndrome of genius'.
