The Peruvian football is in mourning, the historic Peruvian former footballer Víctor "Conejo" Benítez died at the age of 86.
The news was announced by journalist Juan Carlos Esteves through his Twitter account, who detailed that the death occurred in Italy.
The former footballer made his way through Alianza Lima, the club where he emerged and was champion on two occasions (1954 and 1955), then he wore the colors of Boca Juniors. His time with the xeneize team did not go unnoticed by the giant AC Milan, as they decided to incorporate him in 1962.

After his successful time with the red and black team, the former full-back showcased his skills at Roma, Inter Milan, and Venzia. In 1971, he decided to return to Peru to join Sporting Cristal and retired a year later as a national champion.
