Lateral Miranda will sign for Real Betis after disassociating from FC Barcelona
The left-back Juan Miranda, who has played for Real Betis on loan from FC Barcelona this past season, will sign a three-year contract with the Seville team after the Catalan club has declined to renew it until 2023, sources from the operation have informed the Efe agency.
FC Barcelona was entitled to unilaterally extend its contract with Miranda until midnight, but they have granted him his freedom letter in exchange for agreeing with Betis to receive a percentage of a future hypothetical transfer.
Juan Miranda, 21, played for Betis in his early years but spent most of his formation in Barcelona's youth academy, where he played three official matches with the first team in the 2018/19 season. He was loaned to Betis last summer, where he has played twenty-five games and scored two goals.
Juan Miranda, the second signing of Real Betis after Rui Silva
Miranda's signing is the second one made by the Betis entity in the current summer transfer market, and both have been made without paying a transfer fee. Previously, they had incorporated the Portuguese goalkeeper Rui Silva from Granada, where his contract was ending.
