Real Madrid renews contract with Rodrygo until 2028

In the last few hours, Real Madrid surprised millions of fans by officially renewing Rodrygo's contract until the 2028 season. The Brazilian striker is one of the 'jewels' that the White Team has, so Florentino Perez trusts in his abilities for the next five seasons.

"Real Madrid C. F. and Rodrygo have agreed to extend the player's contract, which will be linked to the club until June 30, 2028. Rodrygo joined Real Madrid in 2019, at just 18 years old. He debuted with Real Madrid Castilla on September 14 and on September 25 he scored his first goal in his official debut with Real Madrid," reads the statement from the white squad.

It is clear that Rodrygo has become a key piece in Real Madrid's scheme, being one of the heroes in the mythical 2021-2022 campaign of the UEFA Champions League, in which the white team achieved its 14th star in the great European tournament.

At 22 years old, Rodrygo has already won all possible tournaments with Real Madrid, but he does not want to settle for just one trophy in each competition, as he wants to make the 'merengue' team even greater.

"In his five seasons defending the first team's shirt, he has played 179 matches, scored 39 goals, and won 8 titles: 1 Champions League, 1 Club World Cup, 1 UEFA Super Cup, 2 La Liga, 1 Copa del Rey, and 2 Spanish Super Cups," adds Real Madrid.

According to the portal "Transfermarkt", Rodrygo has a market value of 100 million euros at 22 years of age.
