The signing of the Independiente del Valle midfielder has been one of the most disputed in the Premier's winter transfer window, after Caicedo was linked to clubs with the potential of Manchester United.
Finally, the youngster landed at Brighton, who is currently in 15th place in the table (with 24 points), after two consecutive vital victories, on Sunday against Tottenham (1-0) and on Wednesday against the current champion Liverpool (0-1).
According to British media, Brighton has paid around 4.5 million pounds (5 million euros, 6 million dollars) for him, a high figure for Ecuadorian football, as no one of his age had been sold before for similar amounts. (D)
