Hindsight is a beautiful thing. When Liverpool missed out on the transfer of Moisés Caicedo in the summer window, for many it felt like a catastrophic moment. Yet looking back on that fateful day a few months later, Liverpool will not be kicking itself.
The Reds acted in the right way and did their best to convince Caicedo to join the club. However, the Ecuadorian instead favored a move to Stamford Bridge over Anfield and that was that. There was nothing Liverpool could have done after agreeing a Premier League record transfer fee for his services.
While at the time missing out on one of the best midfield prospects in the league was bitterly disappointing, with hindsight, it's obvious this was not the end of the world for Liverpool. If anything the Reds have fared a lot better than Caicedo's Chelsea side so far this season, finding themselves in third place and already eight points above Caicedo's Blues.

Liverpool will be glad it missed Moisés Caicedo
After the Everton game, it has become even more obvious why Liverpool will be content about missing out on Caicedo. After all, the Ecuadorian's arrival would have prevented the club from likely making any further signings, which may not have seen the Reds fix their midfield problems as effectively.

Record-breaking ace returns
During the international break, the focus was on injuries for Jürgen Klopp and his Liverpool coaching staff. And unfortunately, the big story centered around that was the injury suffered by Andy Robertson who has had to undergo surgery on his shoulder which has potentially ruled him out of action for several months.
This has seen Klopp having to find innovative ways to replace the Scotsman including using Luis Díaz in the left-back role against Everton at the weekend. But it's not all doom and gloom for the Liverpool boss.
