The Spanish forward David Villa denies sexual harassment allegations
Spanish forward David Villa has denied allegations of sexual harassment made by a former employee of New York City, the sports institution he left in 2018, while the American club has announced the opening of an investigation to clarify the facts.
On July 17, a woman who identifies herself as Skyler B on her Twitter account, claiming to be a former employee of New York City, made strong accusations against the former Barcelona forward.
"I thought I was getting the opportunity of a lifetime when I got an internship. What I got was David Villa touching me every day and my bosses thinking it was great comedic material. Women brave enough to tell their stories aloud are my heroines. Guarantee that if someone mentioned my name to David Villa, he wouldn't know who I am. He never called me by my name. Rarely a day went by without him grabbing me or verbally harassing me, but he never bothered to learn my name," she said.
On the other hand, Villa, who ended his playing career last December in Japanese football, opposed the allegations. "These accusations are completely false and I deny them," said el "Guaje" in a statement sent to the press.
