Footballer Kalou signs with Brazilian club Botafogo
Kalou, 34, began his career in Europe with Dutch club Feyenoord and was a champion of the 2012 UEFA Champions League with Chelsea.
Afterwards, he played for French club Lille and in 2014 he signed with German club Hertha, where he had a modest campaign in which he barely touched the ball.
After several attempts by other African players of renown, such as former Real Madrid player Yaya Touré or Obi Mikel, Botafogo ended up signing Kalou.
The Ivorian, whose arrival in Brazil is scheduled for next week, will share a locker room with Japanese midfielder Keisuke Honda, who was signed by the Rio de Janeiro club earlier this year.
Both will be under the orders of coach Paulo César Autuori for the start of the Carioca Championship, which is expected to resume on August 9th.
