Capello: Real Madrid will come out unscathed from the pandemic, Barcelona and Atlético will suffer
"I think that economically, the only team in Spain that will not be destroyed by this pandemic is Real Madrid. Barcelona and Atlético will suffer a lot," said Capello in an interview with the Italian newspaper "La Gazzetta dello Sport".
Capello, 74, coached Real Madrid in two different periods, in the 1996-1997 season and the 2006-2007 season, both ending with victory in the Spanish League.
The former coach, who also won the Champions League with Milan in 1994, also referred to the possible signing of Argentine striker Lautaro Martínez from Inter Milan by Barcelona.
"If I were him, I would stay at Inter. In Barcelona, he would be a substitute," said the Italian, who believes that the Argentine needs to stay in Milan, where he is a leader in Antonio Conte's team, to continue his growth.
"The market will be revolutionized. Absurd amounts were reached for transfers. We will return to a more reasonable level. Intelligent executives will be necessary to fix the system. Selfishness can be fatal," he said.
