The new Real Madrid signing Reinier Jesus is happy to join the team

The young Brazilian midfielder Reinier Jesus, the new signing of Real Madrid, celebrated the conclusion of his transfer to the Spanish team on Monday and expressed his happiness to join the European team.

"Thank God everything is resolved, I am happy, and now we are going to work with the national team in this Pre-Olympic tournament," said Reinier in a quick interview given to TV Globo in the Colombian city of Montenegro (Quindio), where the Brazilian Under-23 team is concentrated.

In his Twitter profile, where he also said goodbye and thanked Flamengo, his last club, Reinier reproduced the official publication of Real Madrid, which welcomes him, and responded: "Hala Madrid".

On Monday, Real Madrid officially announced the signing of Reinier until June 2026 and announced that he will join the subsidiary team, Castilla, when he finishes with his national team at the South American Pre-Olympic Tournament held in Colombia.

"Real Madrid CF and Clube de Regatas do Flamengo have agreed on the transfer of Reinier, who is linked to the club until June 2006," says the brief statement from the Santiago Bernabeu club, pointing to his incorporation into the second white team when the qualification tournament for Tokyo 2020 ends.

Real Madrid made the announcement a day after Reinier turned 18 and made his debut in the Pre-Olympic with a victory in Armenia against Peru (1-0), a match in which he stepped onto the field at the Centenario Stadium in the 72nd minute, replacing Pedrinho.

Reinier Jesus, in an interview with the newspaper Marca, revealed that Zinedine Zidane, the current 'merengue' coach, is his idol.

"When I was very young, I used to watch Madrid's galactic matches with my father. I loved Madrid and since then I have always loved them. The four Champions that Madrid has won in recent years have given me a happiness and pride that is hard to explain. Zidane and Kaka have always been my idols for their elegant and daring style of play in the midfield," he said.
