The German newspaper claimed that the French strategist applied to manage Bayern Munich, but received a negative response.

La salida de Niko Kovac del Bayern Munich has caused many top coaches to offer themselves as candidates for the team's new coach, however, not all fit the profile of the strategist sought by the club's management. One of those rejected is Arsène Wenger, as reported by the Bild newspaper.

According to the German daily, the experienced French coach applied for the position by contacting the club's CEO, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, but did not receive the response he expected from the former German footballer.

Bayern Munich, in statements quoted by the media, announced that they "greatly appreciate Arsène Wenger for his work as a coach at Arsenal, but he is not an option," confirming that the Frenchman "called Rummenigge on Wednesday afternoon (in Germany) and showed interest in the coaching position."

Wenger, who has not coached since leaving the 'Gunners' bench, publicly expressed his interest in leading the Bundesliga champion in the days leading up to this.

"I have never refused to talk to Bayern because I know the people who lead the club for 30 years. I was about to go a long time ago. Coaching is my life. Of course, I am interested," he said when asked about the possibility, as a commentator for the beIN Sports network.

Hasan Salihamidzic, sports director of Bayern, indicated this Wednesday that Hansi Flick, Kovac's former assistant and interim coach since his departure, "is the right coach" for the team for now. "Calmly, without pressure, we will choose the coach who we believe is right," he concluded.
