Alexis Arias has been called up to the Peruvian national team for the two friendly matches that the national team will play in this month's FIFA international break. The announcement was made on Wednesday through a statement from the Peruvian Football Federation.
"The Peruvian Football Federation announces that Alexis Arias, from FBC Melgar, has been called up to the senior national team for the friendlies against Colombia and Chile this month," says the text published on social media.
Alexis Arias will join the group of nine players who have been training since Monday at the Videna facilities: Pedro Gallese, Carlos Cáceda, Patricio Álvarez, Aldo Corzo, Christofer Gonzales, Carlos Ascues, Andy Polo, Marcos López, and Alexander Callens.
The call-up of Alexis Arias would be due to the fact that 'Canchita' Gonzales is not 100% recovered from some discomfort and is currently under observation.
The Peruvian national team will face Colombia on Friday, November 15th at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. And four days later, the 'Blanquirroja' will play against Chile at the National Stadium in Lima.
