Juventus imitates FC Barcelona and Real Madrid by signing a Venezuelan player
Juventus has started to imitate clubs like FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, who are always scouting young talents from this part of the continent to integrate them into their teams from a young age. The surprising thing is that the first South American signing of the Italian team has been a Venezuelan.
It is Christian Makoun, who recently played for Zamora FC in his country, a team that was crowned champion in the 2018 Apertura tournament. Christian Frederick Bayoi Makoun Reyes, his full name, is 18 years old, was born in Valencia and has Cameroonian heritage.
The central defender already knows what it is like to represent his country, as he was part of the U-20 team that finished as runners-up in the World Cup of that category (2017). He also has international club experience, as he played in the Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana with Zamora, former team of Reimond Manco.
The young Venezuelan promise will join the ranks of Juventus Primavera, which is the youth team of the Italian club. From there, he will seek to make the big leap to be promoted to the first team of the 'Vecchia Signora'.
