FIFA delegation arrives at Celeste Complex
A FIFA delegation arrived at the Celeste Complex this Monday while the Uruguayan national team was training for an anti-doping control.
Maria Jose Pesce Cutri, representative of the World Anti-Doping Agency, explained to Telemundo that the controls apply to all teams and can be done during or outside of competition.
"Out-of-competition controls have a range of prohibited substances. They are surprise controls that come from FIFA and are absolutely confidential. The information is only known by those who determine the control - the FIFA anti-doping unit and the officer in charge. The sanction depends on the substance and ranges from a warning to four years. There are aggravating and mitigating circumstances that can change the margins," explained the representative.
