It seemed like Emelec was going to win with 'Cuco' Angulo's goal in the 93rd minute, but 'Culebra' Castillo saved the yellows in the 95th minute.

Emelec drew with Barcelona (2-2), this Sunday in the second El Clásico del Astillero of the 2018 season, which took place at the George Capwell stadium.

Ayrton Preciado (9m) and Brayan Angulo (90+3m) scored the goals for the electric team. Michael Arroyo (27m) and Erick Castillo (90+5m) were the authors of the canaries' goals, who with this result reach 30 points and remain in second place but with the pressure from Universidad Católica (27) who have a pending match.

Meanwhile, Emelec has 26 points and is in fourth place, before the Argentine coach Mariano Soso takes over the club.

It was an exciting match, played with intensity and with strong challenges, and there were even clashes in which Pedro Velasco and coach Guillermo Almada participated when Marcos Mondaini complained on the ground. The excitement increased in the additional minutes with the goal from 'Cuco' Angulo in the 90+3m, when it seemed like Emelec's victory; however, 'Culebra' Castillo rescued the point for the Barcelona team in the 90+5m.

Earlier, in the first half, Ayrton Preciado with a right-footed shot after a perfect combination with Brayan Angulo in the area, gave the electric team the lead in the 9th minute. Michael Arroyo equalized from penalty (27m), due to Marlon Mejía's erratic clearance which raised his hand when he intended to close a cross from Mario Pineida.

Deprived of attack due to the absences of star player Juan Dinenno and alternate Ariel Nahuelpán, Barcelona played with Erick Castillo up front.

Both teams lacked the offensive clarity in the early stages of the second half, which led to changes in the creation zone of both teams. However, Barcelona was left with ten players after the expulsion -for a second yellow card- of Mario Pineida, and without a coach, since Guillermo Almada was sent off for improper protests.

Angulo tried several times in the final stretch, but the canary defense showed resilience in blocking their attempts on goal. However, he took advantage of a cross from Jefferson Montero and gave the temporary lead to the joy of the blue fans, during the added minutes.

When the match was ending, Béder Caicedo swiftly dribbled on the left and sent a cross that was seized by Erick Castillo in the area. The striker beat Dreer with a powerful shot and sealed the final draw.
