FIFA to analyze a new Club World Cup
The FIFA is preparing to analyze a new Club World Cup that would take place every four years and with more teams.
The internal report of the world football organization was leaked in the last hours and revealed that, starting in 2021, it would be played for 18 days between 24 teams divided into eight groups of three clubs each.
By this means, interclub matches will decrease by 35 percent and FIFA's administration expects to raise between 650 and 1000 million dollars which, it is assured, will be reinvested almost entirely in the clubs.
It was indicated that the FIFA council will make a definitive decision on the reform in June, when it meets before the World Cup in Russia.
