National team of Denmark beat Panama in friendly match
The national team of Denmark defeated Panama 1-0 with complications in a friendly match held at the Danish Brondby stadium.
What would have been a big win for the Danish team a few years ago, now turned into a narrow victory for the 'mechanical tomato', which faced a determined Panama National Team led by a familiar face from the Mexican League, Felipe Baloy.
The relentless pressure that the Danish team applied on the Panamanian goal was only matched by the resistance shown by the 'canalero' team on the field of the Brondby stadium, where they managed to keep the score 0-0 during the first 45 minutes.
The good performance that the Panamanians had shown so far, keeping their goal clean, went 'down the drain' when the forward Blas Pérez committed a severe foul and was sent off in the 65th minute of the second half, where the downfall began.
In the 69th minute of the match, the forward Pione Sisto, with explosive dribbling in the area, managed to break the lock of the 'canalero' team and scored the definitive 1-0 advantage for the Danish national team.
Both Panama and Denmark are qualified for the World Cup in Russia; Panama will debut in the summer tournament on June 18 against Belgium and the Danish team will do the same against Peru on the 16th of the same month.
