And what sport and where does the question point to? In the sports field, to soccer and where it is heading, to foresee in the present time a parade of foreign players in Ecuadorian soccer, and so many others who receive our nationality with or without merits, distancing with this tide of athletes in each season the values with Ecuadorian birth.
We suggest to the governing body that regulates soccer in the country that the teams of the first division of our professionalism hire no more than two foreign players and only one naturalized. If not, at some point we will fall into the abyss in international competitions.
We are going to present only two examples to expand the reasoning of this writing in its background and form as a transcendental suggestion.
First example: If the idols Barcelona or Emelec call for athletes aged 17 to 20, no less than a week more than three thousand dreamers of the ball will attend, and from such a figure don't you think that more than 36 players who, being oriented to a training session process, can become players to be enrolled in squads considered by the coaching staff, and then in less than two or three years see them in the lineup of the first team. Let's bet that way.
Second example: By playing only with Ecuadorian soccer players in winter tournaments, reserves, and formative categories as preliminaries for the main match, we assure that we will see so many talents that the fans themselves and the journalists will launch them to stardom to figure in the first team.
I clarify, I have no resentment against foreigners, out of 30 who arrive, 22 are duds. Neither against those who become naturalized overnight. We only aim for the talent cultivation not to be drowned in our sea of soccer... (O)
