Paolo Guerrero: Could he miss the World Cup in Russia?

The World Anti-Doping Agency will appeal the FIFA's decision to reduce its sanction by six months before the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

The World Anti-Doping Agency will appeal the FIFA's decision to reduce its sanction by six months before the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Uncertainty surrounds Paolo Guerrero's return to the soccer field

The uncertainty about whether the "predator" will be able to return to the soccer fields earlier than expected remains uncertain, not only because of the final verdict of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), but also because of the possible appeal of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

It is likely that WADA will appeal to CAS in the case of Paolo Guerrero for FIFA's decision to reduce the captain of the national team's sanction to six months.

As we remember, FIFA sanctioned Guerrero for one year, after an adverse analytical finding in his tests. However, the forward's defense appealed to FIFA's Disciplinary Committee and obtained a reduction to six months.

Now the question that worries all Peruvians is: Can the World Anti-Doping Agency prevent the Peruvian forward from playing in the World Cup? Let's hope not, and that we can see Paolo and all his talent in the upcoming World Cup in Russia.
