José Francisco Cevallos gave details about the negotiation of El Loco Álvez.

The transfer of Uruguayan forward Jonatan Álvez from Barcelona to Junior de Barranquilla was completed for $3 million, reported the president of the yellow team this morning, but specified that less than half of that amount is what the club will receive.

José Francisco Cevallos did not evade the question from a journalist to know the amount of the transaction. The president explained that out of the $3 million, 25% is allocated to the player and his representative as a commission; that is, $750,000, and the remaining value ($2,250,000) goes to Barcelona.

As you may recall, Barcelona only had 50% of Álvez's transfer rights. The other half belongs to the Uruguayan club Torque, as reported by the player himself to a media outlet in his country.

In the end, Barcelona will receive $1,125,000 from the player's sale.

Álvez, who has been in Barranquilla since yesterday, scored 46 goals in his two years at Barcelona: 20 in 2016, when the team became champion, and another 20 in the 2017 national championship, the year in which they reached the semifinals of the Copa Libertadores, a tournament in which he scored 6 goals.

Among other news, Barcelona announced the return of Michael Arroyo for this season and provided details about the Yellow Night, which will take place on January 27th, with Brazilian player Kaká as a special guest wearing the yellow jersey and the Peruvian club Sport Boys as the opponent. (D)
