Didier Deschamps renews contract as France's coach

Didier Deschamps has renewed his contract as France's coach until the end of Euro 2020, announced the president of the French Football Federation (FFF), Noel Le Graet, at a press conference.

"Didier is, in my opinion, the best. The entire FFF executive committee supports this renewal," declared Le Graet from the Federation's headquarters.

In charge of the French national team since the summer of 2012, replacing Laurent Blanc, the captain of the 1998 World Cup champions led France to the quarter-finals in the 2014 World Cup and the final of the 2016 European Championship.

On Thursday, he will announce the list of players called up for the friendlies against Wales on November 10th in Paris and the match against Germany in Cologne four days later.

His previous renewal was made at the end of Euro 2016, with a contract that expired in 2018.
