Good Thursday morning TSFers. You’ve almost made it through another week, and your reward is a full slate of Euros action plus the start of the Copa America. While all this football is going on, the U.S. Olympic Trials for various sports are also underway. The swim trials, at least the finals, have been airing at 8 pm every night on USA. The Track and Field trials are this weekend and Gymnastics is next weekend.
Right now, there is definitely too much sports on TV. I cannot keep up with watching it all. Thank goodness for DVR. But I wish there was some service that could tell you which games / events are worth watching without spoiling the results. I’d love to know which match had all the goals and which was a snoozer so that I could pick and choose which to watch but still have the enjoyment of not knowing the result.
Today’s Euro action:
Slovenia vs. Serbia, 9 am on FS1
Slovenia drew Denmark and Serbia lost to England. The Serbs need a result to avoid likely elimination from the group. Sidenote: can anyone identify where both of these countries are on a map?
Denmark vs. England, 12 PM on FS1
The Brits looked uninspiring in their win over Serbia. Their talent level suggests they should manage more than what they did. Their only goal came from a Bukayo Saka assist on a Jude Bellingham tally. Phil Foden, who everybody wants to talk about, was anonymous.
Spain vs. Italy, 3 pm on FOX
The Spaniards looked impressive in a 3-0 mauling of Croatia. The Italians gifted Albania a goal less than 30 seconds into their match but looked comfortable and solid otherwise. This should be a good one.
Argentina takes on Canada in the only Copa America action of the day. That match is a 8 pm on FS1. Oh - all my listed times are ET.
