Renato Tapia: An Example for Young Footballers in Peru

Renato Tapia is, without a doubt, one of the clearest examples for all young people who want to become professional footballers in Peru. The 'cabezón', as he is called, stood out from a very young age and that was the reason why he emigrated abroad without having debuted in the Liga 1.

However, behind his successful career, he went through many good and bad moments, such as his failure to join Tottenham in the Premier League, which made him spend his birthday very, very sad.

The reason why he couldn't pass the trials at the age of 15 with the 'Spurs' had to do with the fact that, in the last practices, the fact that his birthday was approaching and the lack of concentration ended up playing a trick on him. However, he realized that he had everything to shine at the international level.

"I finished my trial with Liverpool and Tottenham called me to have a two-week trial. But July 28 was approaching, it was my birthday and it was always a grill, a party with the family," he said in an interview with the YouTube show 'Éramos patas'.

"I had to make a decision and I told my agent yes. It didn't go well because my mind was elsewhere and I didn't make it. I spent my birthday crying, but from experience, I said that I was going to be a professional footballer," he concluded.

Finally, it is worth mentioning that Renato Tapia later traveled to the Netherlands to stay at Twente and make a name for himself, which now allows him to wear the colors of Celta de Vigo in Spain.

In the last few days, it has been reported that Renato Tapia could be close to leaving Spain and moving to French lands to become a new reinforcement for Olympique de Lyon. However, they point out from there that everything has been put on hold due to the strict regulations of the National Directorate of Control of Management (DNCG) regarding the club's wage bill.
