Anfield dresses up for Jürgen Klopp's 1000th professional game
Anfield was dressed up on Saturday not only for the attractive match between Liverpool and Chelsea, but also for the milestone that the game represented for "Red" coach Jürgen Klopp.
The German coach reached 1000 professionally directed games. However, the celebration was not complete as the match ended in a goalless draw.
Chelsea could have taken the lead early against Liverpool when, in the third minute, Kai Havertz opened the scoring. However, VAR disallowed the German's celebration.
The "Blues" were the ones who carried the weight of the match, although in the second half the home team managed to level the dangerous actions. Ukrainian Mykhailo Mudryk, who cost €100 million to the London team, made his debut and showed his skills, but couldn't break the deadlock.
The draw doesn't serve either team well, considering that both are far from the Champions League 2023-2024 qualification zone. In fact, both teams reached 29 points, 9 points behind the fourth place in the Premier League, now occupied by Newcastle.
