He was one of the last figures from the Real Madrid youth academy. He was even called the successor to Cristiano Ronaldo. He reached regularity and notoriety with the 'whites' but after an injury he was never the same again. Now, at 29 years old and after playing for several clubs, Jesé Rodríguez has a new adventure in Turkish football.
The Spanish player has become the new footballer of Turkish club Ankaragucu on Tuesday, where he will play the upcoming season with an option for a second, according to the club's brief public statement on their website.
Jesé Rodríguez, who spent the last two seasons at Las Palmas after his bad experience at Paris Saint-Germain, is now embarking on a new project that he signed on Tuesday alongside Ankaragucu's president, Faruk Koca, and the football coordinator, Emre Yildiz.
"Our club continued its efforts to sign players for the new season by signing a 1+1 year contract with successful forward Jesé Rodríguez," Ankaragucu stated, an institution that recently achieved promotion to the Turkish Super League, although it is one of the country's historic teams.
Thus, Jesé Rodríguez says goodbye to Las Palmas after two seasons in which he played 71 matches, scored 16 goals, and provided 7 assists. Ankaragucu will be the seventh club in the professional career for the 29-year-old player.
Jesé, after his time at Real Madrid, was signed by PSG for 25 million euros and a monthly salary of 420,000 euros. However, he never managed to stand out in the Parisian team and began a loan journey through English side Stoke City, Real Betis, Sporting Lisbon, and Las Palmas. In Turkey, he hopes to become an idol for his new fans.
