Cadiz announced that Uruguayan player Brian Ocampo will wear the number 10 jersey this season, shortly before his return to the field.
The club published a photo on Saturday of the former Nacional player posing with his new number jersey, as his return to play after the serious injury he suffered in February is expected to happen soon.
Ocampo was having a good 2022/2023 season at Cadiz, where he had established himself as a regular starter, but he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in his right knee at the end of February, which prevented him from finishing that season and has not been able to debut in the current 23/24 season yet.
Ocampo's last match was on February 19 against Barcelona, where he started and played 62 minutes before being substituted.
The return of the winger is not only highly anticipated by Cadiz fans, but also within the Uruguayan National Team, as coach Marcelo Bielsa confessed in one of his press conferences that he spoke regularly with the player to know about his progress.
Ocampo made his debut in the senior national team in the 2021 Copa America, when he came off the bench in the 0-1 defeat against Argentina in the group stage, when the Celeste was still managed by Oscar Washington Tabarez.
