On June 6th, Juventus of Turin informed Real Madrid and FC Barcelona of their intention to withdraw from the European Super League. With this decision, the 'Vecchia Signora' begins legal proceedings for the project, after being one of its promoters and battling against UEFA. However, this action was also applauded by Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, president of the European Club Association (ECA), who invited the 'Merengues' and 'Blaugranas' to do the same and return to the organization where they would be "welcomed."
Al-Khelaïfi, who replaced former Juventus president Andrea Agnelli at the head of the ECA due to the creation of the Super League in April 2021, stated that the Italian team and those still involved in the project, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, are welcome in this new association.
