Full speed: Formula 1 driver brought the Ballon d'Or to Paris [VIDEO]

Lunes 17 de Octubre del 2022

Esteban Ocon, French driver of the Alpine F1 Team, was in charge of bringing the Ballon d'Or trophy to the Chatelet Theater in Paris, the venue where the luxurious gala takes place.

A luxury presentation. This Monday the 2022 edition of the Ballon d'Or is taking place in the city of Paris. The gala is held at the Chatelet Theater and minutes before the awards are distributed, the maximum trophy appeared in the hands of Esteban Ocon, renowned French Formula 1 driver.

On board his vehicle and dressed as if he were going to compete in a Grand Prix, the athlete parked outside the venue and then entered the gala while being applauded by the audience and photographed by the sports press.

It is worth remembering that this new edition of the Ballon d'Or promises a new winner, since Lionel Messi, winner of 2021, is not present on the list of nominees for the first time in seventeen years. One of the great expectations for this new gala is that the favorite to win the award is Karim Benzema, Real Madrid's top scorer.

Argentine '10' and Cristiano Ronaldo have shared the prize since 2008 (5 awards for the 'Bicho' and 6 for the 'Pulga'), except in 2018 when Luka Modric won the Ballon d'Or, and in 2020 the ceremony was suspended.

In this ceremony, we will also find out the best female player in the world, a prize that Alexia Putellas (Spain), Aitana Bonmatí (Spain), Fridolina Rolfo (Sweden), Asisat Oshoala (Nigeria), Wendie Renard (France), Beth Mead (England), and Alexandra Popp (Germany) aspire to.

In addition, the Kopa trophy will be awarded to the best under-21 player of the year, in which Gavi (Spain), Pedri (Spain), Eduardo Camavinga (France), Nuno Mendes (Portugal), and Jamal Musiala (Germany) are included.

Finally, the Yashin trophy will be awarded to the best goalkeeper, and Real Madrid's Belgian goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, has the upper hand after his great performance in the Champions League final. Alongside him are Brazilians Alisson (Liverpool) and Ederson (Manchester City), Slovenian Jan Oblak (Atletico Madrid), and Moroccan Yassine Bounou (Sevilla).
