With the inclusion of the two-time Ballon d'Or winner, Alexia Putellas, the players spoke out to affirm that their stance against is with the coach and not the Spanish institution.
"In no case have we resigned from the Spanish National Football Team as stated in its official statement by the RFEF (Spanish Federation)," said the internationals in a document on their social networks.
"We have maintained, continue to maintain and will maintain an unquestionable commitment to the Spanish National Team... what we request is not to be called up until situations that affect our emotional and personal state, our performance, and consequently, the results of the team are reversed and could lead to undesirable injuries," they added.
On the other hand, earlier the RFEF stated that "it will not allow the players to question the continuity of the national coach and his coaching staff, as making those decisions is not within their competences."
