Who is winning the 2023 elections?

This Sunday, October 15, the presidential elections are being held in Ecuador between the candidates Luisa Gonzáles, from the Citizens' Revolution Movement, and Daniel Noboa, from National Democratic Action. In this article, we will tell you how to find out your polling place.

Where to vote in the 2023 Presidential Elections in Ecuador?

Millions of Ecuadorian citizens must be registered in the electoral roll of Ecuador and then check their polling place on the official CNE website. Here is the complete procedure you must follow to go to the polls on Sunday the 15th.

    1. Go to lugarvotacion.cne.gob.ec
    2. Enter your ID number.
    3. Enter your date of birth in dd-mm-yyyy format.
    4. Finally, click on "I'm not a robot" and then on "Consult".

    Elections in Ecuador: voting hours

    Voting will begin at seven in the morning in Ecuador and will end at five in the afternoon. Ecuadorians living abroad will have the opportunity to cast their vote until 19:00 hours on Sunday.

    What are the fines for not voting?

    Voting is mandatory for citizens aged 16 to 65, except for healthcare personnel who have to work on Sunday, October 15. People who do not vote will receive a fine equivalent to 10% of the minimum wage (approximately $45).
