Lethal right-foot strike! Goal by Bassco Soyer for Peru's 1-0 lead against Bolivia [VIDEO].

At the 29th minute of the match between Peru vs. Bolivia, in matchday 1 of Group B of the South American U-17 Championship, Bassco Soyer struck a powerful shot with his right foot for the 1-0 lead in favor of the 'Bicolor'.

The Peruvian national team made its debut in the South American U-17 Championship against none other than Bolivia, for matchday 1 of Group B. The youth 'Bicolor' came out strong in their first match of the tournament, which is being held in Ecuador, and managed to open the scoring in the 29th minute of the first half with an impressive goal from Bassco Soyer.

The goal came after a quick counterattack from the Peruvian team. Led by Pablo Zegarra, they created a great play in midfield, with Bassco Soyer passing the ball to Guillermo Grandez. The latter looked up and played a good pass behind the defender to find the team's number '8'.

The Peruvian midfielder, with great speed, ran towards Pereira's goal and struck a powerful right-footed shot, scoring the temporary 1-0 in favor of the 'Bicolor'. It's worth noting that this is the first goal scored by the national team in the U-17 South American Championship.

Peru vs. Bolivia: what's next

After facing Bolivia, the Peruvian national team will rest on matchday 2 of the U-17 South American Championship. However, there will be few days of rest for Pablo Zegarra's team, as they will return to action on Tuesday, April 4, to face none other than Paraguay.

It's important to mention that in this stage of the tournament (Group Stage), all teams will face each other. The top three teams from each group will qualify for the final hexagonal of the tournament. The final stage will follow the same format, and the top four teams will earn the coveted ticket to the 2026 World Cup.

Bolivia, on the other hand, must focus on their next challenge. Pablo Escobar's team will have the tough task of defeating Argentina, their rival on Sunday, April 2, at 7:00 pm (Peruvian time), at the George Capwell Stadium, located in the south of Guayaquil.
