On Friday, Conmebol announced the groups for the upcoming South American Sub 17 tournament that will take place in Ecuador from March 30 to April 23. On this occasion, the Peruvian National Team was placed in Group B of the tournament.
The rivals of the Peruvian team will be Argentina (seeded as the defending champion), Paraguay, Venezuela, and Bolivia, while Group A will be composed of the host Ecuador, Chile, Uruguay, Brazil, and Colombia.
The top three teams will qualify for the final hexagonal, aiming for four spots in the Peru World Cup, which is directed by Pablo Zegarra.
The FIFA U-17 World Cup will be held in Peru from November 10 to December 2, 2023.

The South American Sub 17 tournament will be played in two phases: the preliminary or group stage, which will take place in Guayaquil, and the final hexagonal, which will be held in Quito, the capital of the country.
